Folk Federation of South Australia News Update

The Folk Federation of South Australia held its special general meeting on Wednesday 18 February 2015. The meeting voted to dissolve the Folk Federation, 24 votes to 1. The website will stay live as a dedication to the Federation’s history.

In some ways, the decision taken was a sad one but things have a natural life cycle. The Folk Federation of South Australia has done a lot of impressive things over its 44 years, and we should remember that, and celebrate it.

South Australia’s folk scene is active and healthy. There’s a lot going on, at professional and community level, in all facets of folk, in all generations. The music keeps going, and new things evolve.

The Folk Fed board will work over the next couple of months to wind its business up according to the directions given at the meeting by the members. This Facebook page will remain active over the coming months so keep visiting.

On behalf of the Folk Federation thanks to everyone who’s supported it and participated in its activities over the years.

We will still be posting in the blog occasionally so if you have any requests or would liek to contact us feel free.

Do you have a event happening in acoustic folk
and roots music around SA? We’d love to hear from you.
